My everyday make up

Saturday, 3 January 2015

So I bought I'd let you all know what makeup I tend to wear on a daily basis...although it does change depending on my mood and or how much time I have in the morning. I don't always wear this much makeup I also have quite a few no makeup days, particularly if I have a lot of rehearsals for a show that day then I won't bother with any make up.

So I begin with my Rimmel stay matte foundation in shade 010 light porcelain, I high reccomend this foundation if your look for a nice moose foundation that is medium coverage, but very easily build able and doesn't look cakey. I find that once I've completely blended this foundation I don't require powder or any concealer as it gives me a very airbrushed look. I then use my Makeup Revolution blush palette in Sugar and Spice and I enjoy using bright blushes on my cheeks and having a very flushed look (particularly during the winter months) I love this palette because it comes with an amazing range of bright colours but also some darker browns which can be used for contour and a lovely light colour that works great as a contour.

I then move onto my brows and I used to use the Bobbi Brown brow kit until they stopped stocking it at my local debenhams and so I looked for a highstreet (drugstore) alternative and I stumbled across the MUA brow kit in fair-mid, and I have to say I enjoy this more that my Bobbi Brown one as the MUA one comes with a fixing gel. This makes taming brows so much easier to do and less time consuming. However after being well loved the gel does go a funny colour as I use it after filling my brows in and now it has a funny brown tint to it.

Once my eye brow came is strong I will then move onto my eyes where I will use another Makeup Revoultion product (no prizes for guessing what one of my all time favourite brands are) and it is the Eyes Like Angels eyeshade palette which is full of the most beautiful colours you've ever seen and can be used for so many looks. I tend to stick with either a brown or pink smokey eye, all of which I can do with just this one palette...making it absolutely amazing for such a small price tag (£8 from superdrug) I will often pair the eyeshadow look with a nice cat eye liner which I will achieve with my Models Own Pro Liner in black, sadly this product is no longer available in stores and so far online I have only ever found it on amazon. However I haven't found any brush liquid eyeliners that I can use to replace mine, so if you know any please let me know. I always finish my eyes off with a couple of coats of my Maybeline The Falsies mascara in Black Drama.

I will finish my look of with either a lipstick or a lipstain (I'm not a fan of lipgloss) and in particularly I have been loving the lipsticks by Makeup Revoultion which are only £1! They're so highly pigmented and feel lovely on my lips, I particularly love this colour called Luscious and it is a peach nude and is great with almost any makeup look.

The 11 tag

Thursday, 1 January 2015
So I saw this post on Lily's blog and she tagged everyone to do it, it's called the 11 tag.

I thought it would be a good idea to do some kind of tag so my readers would get the chance of getting to know who I am and what kind of person I am...so here we go.

The rules
1. Each person tagged must post 11 random facts about themselves
2. They must answer the 11 questions posted by the previous blogger
3. They must create 11 more questions to ask their tagged bloggers
4. They must tag 11 bloggers with less than 200 followers
5. The bloggers must be told
6. No tag backs

11 random facts about me
- I have developed an obsession with matte lip products
- Every 7 years my birthday is on Friday the 13th (luckily not this year)
- I study dance at college and will be going off to university to study a degree in dance
- I have a weakness for guys with nice beards (e.g. Jonathan Joly, Dave Giles)
- I have far too many clothing items but constantly buy more
- I'd rather wear a skirt than a pair of tracksuit bottoms
- I drink far too many cups of green tea...no wonder my skin is so clear
- Make up is just one of my hobbies
- My mother has banned me from buying any more books because I apparently have far too many...if that were only possible
- I have attempted to start a blog and failed a few times...but I won't this time
- I don't own a laptop, as it broke during the summer and I'm still saving up for a new one

11 answers for 11 questions
1. If you had to get rid of all your makeup and were only aloud to keep one product what would you keep?
My first reaction was my brow kit, but to be honest my brows aren't too bad without being filled but then I thought about it and I'd probably keep Rimmel stay matt foundation as with I feel like I can conquer the day and whatever awaits me.

2. If you could only use one makeup brand for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
I'd probably have to say Mac simply because they do everything and it's all of a decent to amazing quality...I would even have brushes that I could use to apply my makeup.

3. If you were able to meet up with 5 celebrities, who would you choose?
This was hard because they're are so many people I want to meet, if this icludes people that aren't alive any longer then it would probably be:
- Dick van Dyke
- Julie Andrews
- Zoƫ Sugg
- Idina Menzel
- Gabby Lindley

4. What is one thing in your wardrobe you will always wear, no matter what is in style?
Probably my black skater skirt as it goes with everything and anything, and it also looks cute with anything from a sweater to a blouse to a bralet.

5. What is the bigger makeup/fashion error you've ever made?
Not trying harder to find a foundation to match my skin tone and instead using colours that make me look orange...never a good look.

6. What is your number one skincare tip/rule?
Drink lots and lots of water...no amount of skincare products will be as good for your skin as drinking a good amount of water.

7. Who or what inspired you to create a blog?
My friend Gail (gailaranas.blogspot.co.uk) has an amazing blog and I loved how she used about her personal life rather than it being a beauty blog or a food blog, and I thought that is a great idea I want to create a blog like that...so that's what I've done.

8. If you became the richest person alive, what would be the first thing you buy?
A nice new house, because I don't really like the flat that me and my mum are currently living in.

9. What is your current favourite song, and what is your all time favourite song?
My current favourite song is probably 'Welcome to New York' by Taylor Swift and my all time favourite is probably 'I won't say (I'm in love)' from Hercules.

10. What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning, and the last thing you do before going to bed?
The first thing I do is check my phone for any urgent messages I might have been sent in the night, and the last thing I do is read a chapter of whatever book I am currently reading...at the moment it's 'Gone Girl' by Gillian Flynn.

11.  If you could change one thing in your life, what would it be and why?
I would change how much I doubt something when it goes well and end up ruining it for myself by self sabotage because I'm scared of what will happen next.

11 Questions for you
1. What's your all time favourite makeup product that you use on a daily basis?
2. If you could only eat 1 food for the rest of your life what would it be?
3. What one thing do you wish you could change about yourself and why?
4. Which book character would you like to swap lives with for a day?
5. What's your current app on your phone/tablet?
6. What is your career aspiration?
7. What are your thoughts on love?
8. If you could only listen to one musician or band for the rest of your life who would it be?
9. What's your favourite colour at this moment of time?
10. What do you think the next fashion trends will be?
11. Liquid, pencil, gel eye liner or none?

2014 // year of pizza, pets and performances

What better way to start this blog than on the 1st of January and with a look back on 2014. In general the year had many ups and downs, some personal and some not so much, I lost connections with old friends but made new connections with new people. I fell in love for the first time only to shortly have my heart broken not long after. There was also a lot of pizza, whether it was during s long break at college, or at a girly sleepover either way there was a lot of pizza and it made me very happy.

Now should I mention pets? I probably should, my cats (Pandora and Smudge) are getting older but there still as lovely as always but last year we had a new addition to the family, a little Syrian hamster by the name of Peanut. I was simply in pets at home looking at all the different animals available when I spotted a little hamster in a cage all by himself, I instantly fell in love with him and so brought him home with me. Best decision I made last year to be honest.

Now onto the performances...sure being on a dance course you'd expect a lot of performances however I'd never think they'd be as much fun as they actually are, whether we are putting on a cabaret evening, or our annual musical or even the pantomime! I love performing to an audience, especially with my Purple Trees (company name at my college) family, but let's not forget when I performed at the Kings Theatre with my dance school and made some amazing memories.

Overall 2014 had a lot more high points than low points...let's hope 2015 is the same!

Now here are a few photographs which show of some of my favourite moment throughout the year:
Spending many fun nights with one of the best people in my life
Just a few of the many performances that I have been luckily enough to have taken part in throughout the year

Just looking at the pizza now makes me really hungry...
Lastly lets not forget little Peanut and how adorable he is
